A dominant performance saw Kurt Wilson clinch last Saturday night’s Western Machine Shop supported NSW Lightning Sprint Title at Gilgandra Speedway.
With less than two seasons of Lightning Sprints racing to her name, teenager Kirsty Kelly has certainly impressed all and sundry with her speed.
Current Australian and Queensland Lightning Sprint Champion Sean Iacono, along with fellow countrymen Scott Genrich and Jordan Binskin, are currently over in New Zealand set to take on the country’s best Lightning Sprint drivers as part of the three-round Avon Insurance Tranztaz Lightning Sprint Series.
Last Sunday night at Brisbane’s Archerfield Speedway, Kurt Wilson scored his third Lightning Sprint feature-race win of the season in Queensland; however, it was an impressive Glen Prowse who certainly made him have to work hard for it.
Throughout the Australian speedway scene there are numerous female competitors, and the Lightning Sprints in Queensland are no different and they currently have two female racers keeping their male rivals honest.
It certainly wasn’t easily achieved, but last Saturday night at Brisbane’s Archerfield Speedway, Scott Genrich returned from a crash at the previous race meeting to clinch his maiden Lightning Sprint feature-race win of the season.
